Still in the hospital
I’m sure a lot of you are waiting for updates and pictures. I have a lot of one, not much of the other. I forgot to take the camera home with me, so all the cute pictures are stuck in the camera… in the meantime, here are the updates.
Meg’s feeling much better, but still uncomfortable. She’s moving around better, but still very careful about each movement. I’m sure when she’s have more to say when she gets home and updates the blog herself.
Like a lot of newborns, Cory is just starting to get this nursing thing figured out. In the meantime, we’ve started supplementing after breastfeeding with a half oz of formula. Also, the lactation consultant recommended we start pumping after every other feeding to stimulate further milk production. Once enough milk is produced from the pumping, we can add this to the bottle after breastfeeding, slowly reducing the amount of formula.
Cory also has turned a little yellow. It’s nowhere near the bad jaundice that Lena (our niece) had, but enough that they want to monitor him some more. Our hospital room is on the east side of the building, and He and I spent all morning sitting and enjoying the sun shine. He’s much less yellow, but still golden to us.
Meg’s doctor’s have discharged her, but Cory needs to stay another night. Meg should be able to stay in the room until Cory can leave, but if they get really busy, they may still send her home. We doubt that will happen, but they had to alert us to the possibility.
Eva and I are pretty tired and my mom, Becky is taking a shift at the hospital so we can rest. I’ll try and see if I can post some pictures from the hospital, otherwise, you’ll need to wait until tomorrow. Thanks for all the well wishes.
