Shoot
So as mom had requested we had our big fat belly pregnancy pictures taken yesterday. Beth was so great about Jay’s strange and bizarre idea to do the shots by the river. She as anyone else who has driven out to the river house made the comments of “OH my God, I’m in the sticks. Someone please find my body!” I have to admit I was very skeptical that the pictures we would be taking would look good at all. I mean, the river looked beautiful, but everything else looked like it always does after a winter before anyone cleans it up. Trees, logs, branches all over the place, and not exactly the flower site that mom was thinking about. However, on her drive across the river to us she found some awesome spots. What an eye she has. I thinking we need to go to Longwood Gardens, and she finds the most beautiful shots just driving down dirt roads. Guess that’s how mom ended up buying a house out here in the first place. We did about two hours (wow) of a few shots on the rocks over looking the river. Some pictures were of Jay and I, some of me, some of the “budah.” I either had on my white tube top and skirt, white tube and jeans, or her black tank and jeans. Jay wore a white polo and jeans. I had to remind him to ditch all his geeky paraphernalia. I’m a horrible model. I blink (too many allergens), I never know where to look, and I don’t follow directions well. I’m surprised Beth didn’t loose it with me several times. We left then to find this butterfly bush she drove by. She was insistent on catching a butterfly to put on my belly. They weren’t really happy when Jay had caught two different butterflies and we tried to get the classic open winged butterfly on my belly. Jay thought if we had honey, they might have stayed long enough to take the shot. But they were spastic and flapping all over. Oh well. Pretty bush. Then we went to where some pretty creek was winding past a bridge. We did some pictures on a rock above the creek. Jay liked those. Even did some topless shots (hands and arms coverings). Eh, we were in the middle of no where, and I doubt my mother would care (you know the one who makes me go to the nude beaches in FL). I can’t say I like those a whole lot, just because I’m not a big fan of the big breasts. Jay complimented. Then we hike through the woods on the other side. Yeah, I’m pretty sore today. We did some shots by a mossy old wall that was part of a mill. Then I actually change back into my white and sit in the freezing May water to do some shots. I won’t lie. It was freaking cold. You’d think it’d feel good on all the swollen bits. It actually felt the coldest on the swollen bits. However, I have to say, the “sneak peak” picture Beth put on her blog last night, is pretty awesome. . I can’t wait until she has the proofs ready. The bad thing about doing pictures at 37 weeks pregnant, is that you aren’t going to get your pictures until after you aren’t pregnant any more. Shocked and amazed, Beth said she’d have proofs ready by the 26th. I’ll share when we get them….well, most of them.

I am SOOOO jealous. I always wanted to have maternity pics done. Can’t wait to see the rest of them. Maybe we could have her do some pics of the girls. We really need some good ones of them.

She really does a great job with the kids, too. You should do it.

I wish I could have had maternity shots…you think with as many kids as I have I would’ve…lol. The sneak peak looks fantastic. Maybe if I could get my kids to hold still…hmm. Just one picture of them looking serene and innocent…ahhh. Yeah right…
